Family Portrait Unboxing
On occasion, our clients record their first impression of their portrait as they receive it. Here's an unboxing of a 30-inch Masterpiece portrait with a Florentine frame.
Your experience may vary based on your portrait size, finish, and framing (if applicable).
Masterpiece Details
Your Masterpiece portrait is an art piece handcrafted by a minimum of eight artists and artisans through a 12-step* process before it is delivered safely to your home.
Your portrait is captured against an original hand-painted canvas backdrop with our signature lighting style that illuminates what's important and yields maximum clarity and depth.
In the first phase of post-production, our expert retouch artist refines every detail and removes or reduces any flaws under our creative direction—creating an impeccable palette for our painter artist
Next, our master painter enhances your portrait by hand brushing your entire portrait digitally while maximizing the resolution of your portrait to achieve unmatched realism
Your portrait is prepared by a master printer who optimizes the digital file for output to high resolution media through a silver halide process
A section of canvas is curated and trimmed by hand and its texture is hand-scraped where faces will be rendered, thus ensuring a smooth and unobtrusive surface where it matters most
The print is stripped from its backing before our canvas craftsman applies Laminol by hand to bond the emulsion to heavy duty linen canvas by heat with thousands of pounds of pressure, bringing your portrait together as one with the fine art medium
A specialized carpenter hand selects wood and builds the highest grade stretcher frames in the industry for your art piece
The back of the canvas is hand-coated to add an extra layer of protection against the elements before it is mounted to the stretcher frame as tight as a drum head
Contoured acrylic brushstrokes are applied by hand to add depth to your portrait, bringing it to life with realism unmatched by even the finest commissioned oil paintings
Multiple layers of lacquer spray are applied to protect your artwork even further, creating a hard surface that is durable and easy to clean; not even Windex or tomato sauce will damage it
Our master framer hand carves your portrait frame, and European-imported gold leafing is hand-laid before the frame is individually hand antiqued with a proprietary patina finish to give it the distinctly rich look and feel of a museum masterpiece
Our master nameplate artist personally selects hard wood to create your custom gilded nameplate using 22 karat gold; all names are lettered and antiqued by hand
*With custom frame and nameplate.
Your treasure awaits.
